Heart Chakra | Anahata
In the centre of the chest lies the Heart Chakra, our spiritual core and centre point of the energy system with a purpose to integrate and balance all aspects of our being such as spirit and matter; body and mind; inner and outer realms; giving and receiving, as well as self and other.
Ruled by the air element the Heart Chakra is visualised as green and is representative of your ability to love (yourself and others), practice kindness, install peace, show compassion and unite, where an imbalance is likely to manifest in the heart, lungs, pericardium, arms, and hands.
How to balance Anahata: Chant ‘Yam, do Cobra (Bhujangasana) and Fish (Matsyasana) pose and practice appreciation and empathy styled meditation for deeper heart expansion. Eat plenty of green, leafy vegetables, broccoli, cabbage, and celery. Give and receive hugs knowing the arms and hands are, in fact, an extension of the heart. Wear any shade of green or pink, which is also symbolic of the heart space.
